We stayed for two nights in late March for the first time and everything about this place went beyond our expectations , especially the staff on greeting and throughout were always willing to offer assistance and go out of their way to help, the place is immaculate and very well managed by the onsite manager . This is all on top of the beautiful rooms , location and facilities , I highly recommend . - Amy
A Tingirana Holiday Experience
Fishing adventures offshore
Surrounded by water as guests are at Tingirana, there’s more to enjoying Noosa than gazing over Laguna Bay, relaxing in the waves or walking along the river. For the Hunter-Gatherer, opportunities abound for saltwater based fishing.
The experienced team at Fishing Offshore Noosa can be seen making their way out to sea on an (early) daily basis. The return trip through the river mouth hours later, will hold men and women standing a little taller and with a little more confidence in their stance, having had their elemental need to provide satiated kilometres offshore.
Access to a large number of reefs and hallowed fishing ground surround Noosa, with the crew heading out to the likes of Sunshine Reef, Jew Shoal and even the Barwon Banks. Out there, where the land is a thin line on the horizon, the crew uses navigational equipment to ensure dropping a line will involve a large fish on the other end. Delicious local reef fish and even the exciting thrill of catching pelagics are common on a Fishing Offshore Noosa charter.
Complete novices are catered to by the crew, with rods, reels and bait part of the ticketed price. For those who consider themselves fisher folk, targeting species is a speciality of Fishing Offshore Noosa. From half to full day charters, with non-alcoholic drinks and food provided as well as pickup if required, this is a fabulous way to spend a high-octane day out on the water.
For a slightly more serene fishing adventure (and one catering for those with children 6 years and older) the Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures is an excellent way to explore the calm waters of the Noosa River. Operating as half day tours (morning or afternoon), the best part is the opportunity to have fresh caught mud or blue swimmer crabs cooked on board whilst you concentrate on catching your fish.
The ‘Jay-Lea’ is a purpose built punt with toilet facilities on board, providing all fishing gear, all-weather jackets, lunch and drinks. Excellent skippers give informative chats about the ecology of the river as you head up toward Tewantin and the fertile fishing grounds of Lake Corooibah or perhaps along the shallow waters of Lake Weyba. Bird and fish life abound in these pristine waters and this in itself, is a fabulous way to see a little more of Noosa.
Whiting, flathead, bream, trevally and the coveted mangrove jack are all targeted species on these charters, as well as the crabs pulled from their pots. With expert and intimate knowledge of tides, moon and seasons, the crew at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures are always ready to take you to where the fish are. Best of all, with access to the calm waters of the river, this is an excellent family friendly experience, especially if the weather has been less than ideal on the open beaches. Experience all Noosa has to offer- it tastes pretty delicious too!
